Service was attentive, friendly and informative. was the best meal we had the two weeks we were in Africa. We source from local sustainable producers and use every part of the animal. Calm, open kitchen. The wine list is extensive, every visitor will find something that satisfies their taste. The open kitchen style is lovely we could see all the food being prepared and the service was excellent! I am paying for the quality of what I am eating, and the fact that this restaurant takes care of the people who work there.

Great tastes. This unusual restaurant has no menu and no set number of courses - you just make sure you're there by 7pm, and course after course flows out of the kitchen to delight.

It’s tofu made out of chickpea, the texture reminded me a lot of perfect polenta and it was full of flavor and the perfect base for my sandwich. I can honestly say dining at the Belly of the Beast is the best dining experience I... had in South Africa.

They start accepting reservations at the beginning of the previous month and fill up very rapidly, so be attentive. We both love food and came across Belly of the Beast. An exceptional meal and experience. We offer a tasting menu for lunch and dinner in our 20 seater restaurant. Special evening out to celebrate my partners birthday. (All menu items were identified if they were gluten free, nut free, dairy free, etc.). The spicy chickpeas could have been spicier, but they were crunchy and delicious. As a vegetarian it is a bit scary walking into a place called Belly of the Beast, but I had the best vegan meal I can recall. Highly recommend going with friends to share this experience since it's 6:30 to roughly 9:30.
