security camera purple tint

Based on my experience with this laptop (15-CH011DX),  I have come with two conclusions; 1- It is a lghting issue and I am not going to create a jig. I haven’t opened either of my v1 cameras, and I haven’t received my v2 yet. Take it back. You can try tapping the camera ala Fonzie to see if you can unstick it. I found one forum post that also had this problem and said that upon opening the camera he found that IR filter was stuck open. Nothing strange about it.

@BuckEye… It is definitely the magnet in the base, but it is not affecting the image sensor. That fixed my purple tint problem. Mine had the purple tint, contacted customer support and they said it was a known issue that they were working on a fix in the meantime they are sending me a replacement. It's good you said you still have a tint b/c otherwise your claim would be well... laughable, I explained why. New V2 has purple tint. I bet your's is no better or identical, what else could it be... you just chose not to see it, that's all, that is your "fix". If you try this, ensure the firmware is updated, and try the manual toggling of the IR filter but none of it fixes the issue, I'd call support. I am really shocked you suggested the jig idea. I think there was a prior update that dealt with the purple tint.
